Margaret Lucke
About the program
Some of the most compelling technical documentation uses techniques that are more common in fiction. Effective technical writers often create narratives and help readers form mental images.
Discover the seven secrets of great storytelling! Explore the elements of fiction writing – ideas, story structure, plot, characters, setting, voice, and rewriting – and learn how to develop a compelling story, from the first inspiration to the final polished draft.
About the speaker
Margaret Lucke is a writer, editor, and teacher of fiction writing classes in the San Francisco Bay Area. She writes tales of love, ghosts, and murder, sometimes all three in one book. She is also the editor of Fault Lines, a short story anthology published in 2019 by the Northern California chapter of Sisters in Crime. In addition, she has published two how-to books on writing, Schaum’s Quick Guide to Writing Great Short Stories and Writing Mysteries. Her other publishing credits include more than 60 short stories, feature articles, and scripts for mystery weekends.
